Kiwi Crate - Fun Craft Activities!

Friday, April 20, 2012

Being a homeschool family, it is important that I have craft materials on hand and projects planned each week. I'm pretty sure this is currently their favorite part of our day/week. They are both into making a craft out of anything they can find. Nearly anything can be recycled into a piece of art as far as they are concerned.

The Kiwi Crate was a huge hit! The interesting green crate/box came packed with activities to entertain the children and get their creative juices flowing. They could make stained glass windows, new designs for the square and circle spinning tops and create fun colors for a canvas tote.

As a child, anything with vibrant colors seemed to grab my attention and hold me captivated.  The multicolored squares that they could use for the stained glass windows and canvas tote reminded me of similar projects I enjoyed when I was young.

I can't be sure, but I think they've enjoyed the tops the most. After they ran out of blank pieces of paper to place on their tops - they took the scissors included in the Kiwi Crate and cut out more!

This is a perfect item for me, a mom with a busy schedule and kids who love to craft, explore and create.  Taking the time to plan an activity and the time to gather materials can be somewhat tasking, though it must be done!

So what is Kiwi Crate?  It is a subscription based activity that your children can expect monthly.  Each month a new crate will arrive and provide you and your children with themed activities.

In Every Crate:

  • Every month you'll receive all the materials and inspiration for projects related to a theme such as safari, space or colors.
  • Projects may include arts and crafts, science activities, imaginative play and more.
  • We've hand selected and kid tested projects that are open ended and encourage curiosity, exploration and creativity!
