Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites - Gatlinburg

During our family vacation, we stayed at the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites located in North Gatlinburg.

My husband and I decided to wait until we drove into the area to make a decision on where we would be staying. It's very important to me to know the place{s} I stay are clean and family friendly.

Driving through Gatlinburg we were given many choices on hotel accommodations. We vacationed there in May before the heavy tourist season, so every hotel appeared to have a vacancy.

The first hotel we noticed coming into Gatlinburg was the Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites. It had a very updated appearance {which can't be said for most hotels/motels in Gatlinburg}. In all fairness, a lot of hotels were in the middle of remodeling the outsides of their buidlings.

The swimming pool with slide grabbed our children's attention immediately.  That being on our list of necessary amenities for our hotel, we quickly took note of that aspect.

After circling Gatlinburg a couple times, we turned around and headed back for the Marriot Fairfield Inn & Suites we saw when we first entered Gatlinburg.  The rates were reasonable and the rooms were nice.  We decided that would be the hotel for this family vacation.

The room was nicely decorated in modern colors and was well kept.  We did have a slight issue with a hole in a bed sheet.  It really wasn't a big deal to myself or my husband, we just didn't want to be charged for any type of damage.  The staff was very accommodating and polite {as were we} and took care of it.

The staff was very polite and friendly our entire stay.  My daughter eventually warmed up to and made friends with the lady who prepared and maintained the breakfast bar in the mornings.

The pool.  My kids loved the pool!  This was their first vacation and their first hotel.  The pool was a smaller pool, but it gradually deepened which helped to calm any fears the kids had with the water.  They were soon brave enough to climb the stairs and make their way down the curvy slide.  An indoor pool was also provided, but the weather remained nice enough for us to enjoy the outside pool during our stay.

The Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites does not sit on the main strip in Gatlinburg, but it is worth the trolly ride to get to downtown Gatlinburg.  After all, how big is Gatlinburg anyway?  If you don't want to purchase a timeshare in town and enjoy the convenience of a hotel over a chalet, I highly recommend considering this hotel.
